Entering Your Goals

To set up your goals for a given year, click Goal Setting in the main menu, select the year from the list at the top of page, and click the Get Started button.

You will be asked a series of questions that will be used to calculate the number of transactions you need to do in order to reach your annual gross commission income (GCI) goal, as well as the number of prospecting activities you need to do to get there.

Note  If you are starting to enter transactions in the Active Business area after the calendar year has started, for Question 1 select the date on which you intend to start entering transactions, and enter the GCI that you want to earn for the remainder of the year.

All of your prospecting activity goals are entered as annual goals. For Question 7 enter the number of weeks that you intend to work during the year, and your weekly activity goals will be calculated accordingly. (Don’t forget to subtract your vacation weeks!)

Note  If you are setting up your goals after the calendar year has started, select the date on which you will start entering your contact prospecting activities, and enter the number of weeks you intend to work for the balance the year. Your activity goals should reflect your goals for the balance of the year.

Note If you create your own “custom” Prospecting Activity Types (see Recording Prospecting Activities for a Contact), your Goal Setting setup will ask you how many of each of your custom types you would like to do for the year.

Only the Team Leader and administrators can enter goals for a team. There is one set of financial goals for the team, but prospecting activity goals are entered for each team member.

Once you have answered all of the questions, you will be presented with a summary page that includes the business activities you need to conduct in order to reach your financial goals for the year, as well as the prospecting activities you need to do to get there. You can modify your goals at any time clicking the Edit Goals button at the top of the page.

If you have started entering your goals and you need to do something else, don’t worry, all questions you answer are saved ‘on-the-fly’. When you come back to Goal Setting, select the year for which you have partially entered your goals, and click the Continue button. You are returned to Question 1 in case you need to override your answers, but all of your previous answers have been saved.
