Mass Texting

Once you purchase your custom texting phone number, you can use List View to mass text a message to a selected group of contacts.

To send a mass text:

  1. Go to contacts List View by clicking the List button above your contact list.
  2. Search for and select the group of contacts to whom you want to send your text message (see Selecting Contacts).
  3. Select Create Mass Text from the action list.
  4. Enter your text message in the area provided.

Note  You can personalize each contact’s text message by selecting the desired merge field from the list below the message area.

Note  A text segment is up to 160 characters and each segment requires 1 texting credit. As you type your text message, the indicator below the message area tells you how many characters you have entered, and how many segments are required. If your text message exceeds 160 characters, you will require more than 1 texting credit for each message sent. If you do not have enough texting credits to send your message, you can click Purchase Credits to buy more (see Purchasing Texting Credits).

Note  By default the text message will only be sent to the main contact mobile number of each selected contact. If you wish to also send the message to the spouse/partner’s mobile number (assuming the spouse/partner has a mobile number), you can opt to send the message to both numbers by selecting the Text Partner/Spouse option. Note that this will increase the number of required texting credits.

  5. If you want to include a picture with your message, click the Attach Picture icon to the left of your message, and select the picture file from your computer.

Note  The maximum picture file size is 2MB.

Note  Messages that include a picture require 2 additional texting credits.

  6. When you are ready to send the messages, click Send.

A record of each outbound text message is recorded in each contact’s Contact History. If you opt to text both the main contact and spouse/partner, separate entries will be recorded for each.
